Dan Fontaine
Executive Director
danf@wyp.org |
Dan first attended a tracking workshop with Wilderness Youth Project (WYP) in 2001 and hasn’t been able to quit the project since. Over the years he’s been involved in nearly every aspect of WYP. Although he's been a resident of Goleta since 1994, his reverent appreciation of the environment around the Santa Barbara Channel has yet to plateau. He’s guided by a certainty that connection with the landscape around us helps develop the personal gifts that enrich our lives and the Community that contains us.

Charity Dubberley
Program & Admin Staff
charity@wyp.org |
Charity grew up under the blue skies and sunshine of New Mexico, hiking and camping with her family. She migrated to Philadelphia to earn a BS in Interior Design/Architecture from Drexel University. When she realized how much she missed the mountains and sunshine of her youth, a job offer in Santa Barbara spurred another cross-country move in 2005. She spent 3 1/2 years working on performing arts and school projects in the architecture field before coming upon the community of Wilderness Youth Project, where she assists in the office and after school programs. She lives on the Mesa with her husband Matt, transforming their yard into a food forest when they're not biking, trail running, rock climbing, hiking, or traveling.

Eric Danner
edanner@gmail.com |
| Eric is thankful that his parents started camping with him long before he could talk or walk, and started the family backpacking long before everyone was quite big enough. This fostered an appreciation for nature which grew as he did. This appreciation developed into a full blown reverence around the time of his move to UCSB, where his study of nature took the form of biochemistry. He currently does biomaterials research at UCSB as well as tutoring and working with WYP. The mud puddle baths and community that WYP brings helps keep balance and sanity in his life. |
