Natural History Journeys Nature Awareness Sharing Food

Our homeschool programs grew out of requests from the community for us to offer our nature-based mentoring to homeschoolers. Our activities are centered on natural history of local plants and animals, sensory awareness exercises, and wilderness skills. With our group size of twelve and three staff mentors we are able to focus the programs on the individual needs and passions of the children. We always manage to have a pile of fun while connecting with the world around us.
The Monday and Friday groups are slightly different:

Monday

This program meets at Tucker’s Grove Park in Goleta and
primarily stays there each week, exploring, hiking up to
the cattail pond, or doing activities in Kiwanis Meadows
at the top of the park. Parents are allowed to tag along
with the group, though are not responsible for helping.

Friday

This program is for kids only, and meets at Rocky Nook
Park in Santa Barbara. Each week we take the kids to
different locations with our passenger van, and at the end
of the program we all share in a potluck lunch.
